Saigon Shuffle 2.0 goes beyond being a first person narrative about the 1968-1969 phase of the War in Vietnam. The Shuffle begins with a description of the circumstances that led to becoming personally involved in the nation's first “war of choice” and proceeds to chronicle many of the people immersed in that complex, and sometimes horrific, adventure. The timeline of Saigon Shuffle 2.0 extends beyond simply returning to the United States. The Shuffle continued, and some of the consequences for making that eventful commitment didn't end, until the 1986 Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Parade in Chicago.
Over 75 original photographs and documents enhance the visual impact of this autobiographical account. Saigon Shuffle 2.0 features eyewitness accounts of historic events as well as multiple perspectives on the military action in Vietnam. The unexpected reception of an uncaring nation is an often overlooked, but not forgotten, element of this memoir about a significant segment of American History.
